The primary purpose of the ARDS Support Center is to provide
information, education, care and support for patients, survivors,
family members and loved ones who have been confronted with the many
problems resulting from the onset, treatment and consequences of the
devastating condition known as Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.
The ARDS Support Center will sponsor and participate in activities
aimed at funding ARDS research, the furtherance of the primary goal of
the ARDS Support Center and creating a broad public awareness of this
deadly syndrome.
GOALS:
Provide highly reliable authenticated medical information relating
to the nature and treatment of ARDS and post-ARDS conditions that may
develop.
Provide a staff of volunteers who will assist those seeking care,
support and information from the ARDS Support Center.
Provide facilities that will assist individuals in coping with the
onset, treatment and consequences of ARDS.

Chat Room activities. It is the position of the ARDS Support Center
that qualified medical personnel monitor and supervise any Chat Room

Those working on behalf of the ARDS Support Center are not

The ARDS Support Center provides much authenticated medical
information but volunteers are not qualified and will not provide
medical advice regarding the treatment of ARDS or the many attendant
problems resulting from the onset of ARDS.
The inclusion of material such as Stories and Journals, Care Corner
Listings and Memorials must be approved by the Executive Committee as
to content, aesthetics and conformity with the goals, objectives and
policies of the ARDS Support Center.
The Executive Committee of the ARDS Support Center has the
responsibility of assuring that all communications meet common
standards of good taste and are in conformity with the policies of the
ARDS Support Center.
